Transferring your place to someone else

Accepted Answer

If you are unable to attend an event, you may be able to transfer your place to someone else. Simply view your booking via the link in your confirmation email and, if the event organiser is currently permitting such transfers, click to Transfer to Someone Else.

You will be asked to enter the name and email address of the intended recipient - together with any custom message you wish to add - and on completion of the booking invitation sent to the recipient, your entry will be removed.

Question 2

I purchased Refund Protect with my booking, how do I submit a claim?

If you purchased Refund Protection with your entry, your confirmation email will include your claim reference, and links to both the website through which you can submit a claim, and the Terms & Conditions you accepted during purchase that will be applicable to any such claim.

Refund Protect is a service offered by a third party provider. Neither the organiser of the event - nor eventrac as the software provider through which the purchase was made - have any influence over the subsequent outcome of any claim submitted to the provider. You must contact them directly via email reply to the initial confirmation you receive when first submitting a claim.

Refund protection is not applicable if the event is cancelled/postponed by the organiser. In this case you will need to contact them directly to discuss your original entry.

Question 3

Will food and nutrition be provided?

There will be some food and sponsor nutrition available during the event aswell as cold and hot water.

However, this is a self sufficient endurance event, so we strongly recommend bringing your own food, drinks, and race day nutrition to support your performance.

Question 4

How does the backyard event work?

Every hour, on the hour, runners complete one 6.7056km loop of the course in the form of 2 laps.

What happens if i don't finish in time?

If you do not complete before the next hour begins or you fail to start the next loop on the hour.

You will record a DNF (Did not finish)

There are no exceptions. Thats the backyard rule

Question 6

Can i have a crew?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Runners can have crew support and set up their own base area within the designated event space. However this will be tent and gazebo only.

ANY Vehicles will be required to park in the carpark around 100m away.

Backyard is about smart recovery between loops.

So plan accordingly

Is food provided?

Accepted Answer

There will be limited sponsor nutrition, food and snacks available throughout.

However, this is a self supported event, so please bring everything you need to fuel yourself for the duration.

Question 8

How long does the event last?

The event continues until only one runner completes a loop within the time limit.

There is no fixed finish time

Joining a Waiting List

Accepted Answer

If an event has sold out and the organiser has enabled one, you can join a waiting list - so you still have a chance to take part if places become available. You’ll need to provide the same details as if you were entering the event, but you won’t be charged at this stage. Any extras or add-ons that would ordinarily be available during registration can be purchased if you are later invited to complete entry.

If a place does become available, and you are next on the waiting list, you will receive an email invitation with a direct link to review the details you originally provided and then complete payment. The invite will only be valid for a short period (1 or 2 days, for example) so you will need to take action as soon as possible. If you don’t respond in time, your invite will expire and be offered to the next person on the list. You can also reject the invitation if you are no longer interested in participating.

Where can i park?

There is a car park on the site. However, there will not be space within the base for Vehicles of any sort including cars and campers.

Inside the base, where the start line is located, will itself be strictly for gazebos and tents.

What should i bring?

Recommended gear includes but is not limited to - Shelter: Tent or Gazebo, A Comfortable Chair or Camp Bed, Lighting/Headtorch and batteries (Essential kit for night), Thick Coat, Blanket, or Sleeping Bag, Spare Clothing (For All Weathers). Nutrition & hydration for extended efforts.

If i stop can i leave?

Yes, you can stop and leave whenever you wish or stay to support the other runners.

Question 13

Will there be access to Electricity at the event?

Accepted Answer

Athletes must plan to race completely self sufficient. We cannot provide electric for personal use. Bring any power banks or charging solutions you need and assume you will not have access to mains power.

Is first aid available?

First aid is available during the event. In case of an emergency, reach out to a staff member.

Question 15

Are Spectators welcome?

Accepted Answer

Spectators are welcome, and nothing is better than being cheered on by friends and family. However we cannot guarantee that there will be efficient parking as these will be prioritised for our runners first.

You can however reach the site on foot if desired
